In memory of our dear colleague and former Vice President of STS Italia Prof. Marina Maestrutti, who suddenly passed away in January 2021, STS Italia is announcing a fee-waiver program for the upcoming conference "Dis/Entangling Technoscience".
Up to 15 waivers of registration fees may be granted to PhD students, post-doc and non-tenured academics working in low- and middle-income countries.
Requests can be made by sending an e-mail to "firstname.lastname@example.org" from March 8, 2021 to March 25, 2021. Results will be communicated by April 7, 2021.
The E-mail applying to the program must contain:
1) as subject: “Fee-waiver request – [LAST NAME]”
2) as body, the following information:
Date of birth
Country of work
Affiliation (if none, personal address)
Title of the accepted abstract
Title of the track
Explicit declaration that conference expenses will not be covered by any other institution
3) as attachments:
A CV specifying the applicants current employment and, if applicable, academic status (tenured, untenured), in order to check their eligibility
Fee-waivers will be awarded by taking into consideration the following eligibility criteria: the country of work, age, current employment and academic status. The selection will ensure a balanced allocation of the waivers in terms of gender. Should the number of applications exceed the maximum of 15 waivers available, STS Italia will select the beneficiaries according to the order of arrival of applications. The evaluation committee is the Board of STS Italia.
Please, be aware that, due to legal reasons, STS ITALIA MEMBERSHIP is mandatory for applying to the program. Therefore, you shall have paid your 2021 membership fee and be an STS ITALIA member in good standing to apply. STS Italia membership provides access to the mailing list and participation in activities organized by STS Italia.
